2007 U4Prez Win

Wow, the 2007 U4Prez.com contest is finally over. Democrats faustus37 and myself managed to pull off the victory after weeks of attacks by other contestants. I would definitely like to think KT2020 for her help and support in the contest and she was really great about backing us up and getting out the vote. More to come on this soon.

Twisted Religion

A couple weeks ago, I was looking for a book on one of my bookshelves ... and I stumbled across a book that I got back in 1989 but I never actually read it ... because I was taught that the Jehovah's Witnesses were a cult by my Southern Baptist church. I decided to open up the book titled "The Bible: God's Word or Man's?" It made me wonder if the invasion of Iraq was nothing more than an attempt to take control over ancient Babylon and Mesopotamia. The book lays out the history of the bible and tries to convince you that the bible is God's inspired word ... but for me ... knowing what I do now ... it dealt a damaging blow to the believers of Christianity. The book shows a 15th century image of a man being burned to death ... and the image is labeled "As this 15th century woodcut illustrates, many were burned alive for the "crime" of reading the Bible." The image is very revealing .. because it is obvious that the man being burned is the only one who is not a Christian. The others are wearing the fish type hats (like the Pope) and have scepters with crosses on them. The man being burned looks like a Buddhist. What a shame that they even said this ... it is clearly a lie. In this book they say that "no such book has been the target of so much vicious opposition and even hatred throughout history. Bibles have been burned on public bonfires, from the Middle Ages down to our 20th century. And reading or distributing the Bible has been punished with fines and imprisonment and even in modern times. In past times such crimes often led to torture and death." These statement are not exactly true. The real punishments were imposed on those that did not believe the bible ... as they were imprisoned, tortured and fined. Throughout our history you will see that the Christians were the ones that did these very actions and were the book burners. You need to look no further than the Mayans ... as all their books were burned.

The Corporation is a must see movie !!!

The Corporation is an excellent Award winning film. The corporation is explored and the true nature of the corporation is exposed. I definitely think that this movie is a must see for all Americans.

In this movie there are over 40 people that are interviewed including CEOs and top-level executives from a bunch of different industries including oil, pharmaceutical, computer, tire, manufacturing, public relations, branding, advertising and undercover marketing; in addition, a Nobel-prize winning economist, the first management guru, a corporate spy, and a range of academics, critics, historians and thinkers are also interviewed.

The Corporation is basically a legal person since the mid-1800s. The remorseless rationale of "externalities" (as Milton Friedman explains, the unintended consequences of a transaction between two parties on a third) is responsible for countless cases of illness, death, poverty, pollution, exploitation and lies.

The true nature of a corporation and the effects that the corporation has on society are exposed in this film. I give it two opposable thumbs up. This film is definitely worth the watch ... and a definite must see.

Peace, Propaganda and the Promised Land: Media & the Israel-Palestine Conflict

This is a great movie that sheds light on the Israeli and Palestinian conflict and the one sided manner in which the American media takes when presenting the conflict. The American media seems to show the Palestinians in a negative light as if they are the ones that are in the wrong. They are not blowing themselves up because they are treated properly ... they are blowing themselves up because they are having their land taken from them and are the victims of a brutal oppressive Israeli Government. I know that that is difficult for most to believe but it is the reality of the matter. This video definitely sheds light on the conflict and I think that it is important for Americans to look at outside sources for information regarding this conflict. The Palestinians are not the ones that are causing the conflict as the media trys to insinuate ... it is exactly the opposite. Watch this video to see the truth. Don't leave a comment unless you have watched 100% of this video .. because I don't care about your opinion on the movie ... unless you have seen it.
